Calgary BeerFest 2008

The Calgary Beerfest is back at the Big Four building this year again. Bad timing on my part last year and I missed it - but here are some of the details from their website. 1. What is the Calgary Beerfest all about? Calgary Beerfest is an amazing sampling event that allows you to sample beers, meet great people, play games, enjoy entertainment, and basically have a great time! 2. Where is the event held? This year’s event is being held at the Big 4 Building at the Stampede Park. Located in central Calgary just off MacLeod Trail and Olympic Way; it’s easy to get to, has ample parking, is close to the C-Train station and is close to the Saddledome, 17th Ave. and Downtown Calgary. 3. When is Calgary Beerfest and what are the hours of operation? This amazing two day sampling event runs, Friday, April 25th, 4pm - 10pm & Saturday, April 26th, 3pm - 10pm. Friday Funny - Thaw Canada

Image
From Jules Crittenden Forward Movement Blog University of Alberta researcher Denise Young, who led the study, suggests that provincial authorities hold beer-fridge buy-backs or round-ups to eliminate the threat — methods that Americans use to get guns off the streets. Jules said: Beer fridge buyback? When you pry my cold, dead fingers off it Fox news story Scientists have found a new threat to the planet: Canadian beer drinkers. The government-commissioned study says the old, inefficient “beer fridges” that one in three Canadian households use to store their Molson and Labatt’s contribute significantly to global warming by guzzling gas- and coal-fired electricity.... So she suggests a "buy back" of the old fridges - well how about this - the province buys the old fridge and gives you a new beer cooler like the ones here at CBS - Not the TV network - Canadian Beverage Supply.

Friday Funny - New meaning of six pack?

Not a worksafe video - nor recommended for kids. This video contains nudity and comedy. H/T to the Long Lake Lady for finding this. Six pack? - well she was holding four beer jugs - plus two more - makes six.. PS - I know it's early for a Friday Funny - but I'm busy tomorrow. Besides, everyday is Friday when you're looking for gainful employement.

The Bunnies Rules

From the folks at Tiki Bar TV - the drinking game of "Bunnies" as played by: The Royal League of Bunnies Just the thing for a Friday drink round. Check out the video below: Is it just me - or does the shield sort of look like a moosehead? Perhaps Moosehead is the choice of the ale for Canadian players? Me - I'll stay with Big Rock Honey Brown or Sleeman's Honey Brown - which sort of look like the brews used by the Tiki Bar TV folks. More likely - off to Koko's Sports Bar for Brewskies tonight - and knock some balls around - there's a new golf simulator being installed there and should be operational by tonight.
