Some times I wonder if I should keep this going

I just posted a new article at View from the Plateau – which was the result of a phishing e-mail I got through my LinkedIn account.  And it’s got me thinking as well.  I’ve been posting and lurking on a number of sites, reading a lot of RSS feeds and spending a lot of time on email and Facebook, with the result that my blogging has suffered.  I’ve not even updated either for months, and there are two articles sitting in draft form that need to be finished.  The short form on the Twitter and reading the newsfeeds from my iPad has cut back on sitting down and writing long form posts.  I’ve also been lax in getting graphics done for the posts – as the linking of the latest missive at View ends up plastering my visage all over Facebook and Google+.  These new mini blogging platforms – and Twitter as well are moving to more and more graphics – and less and less text.

Saving Face

Well here I had shutdown the Facebook account - hoping to eliminate the problem. I let it sit for a couple of days and then opened it back up for some of the groups I wanted to be in. But here again the problem has cropped up - so I'm posting this in Facebook, and here to prove this is mine To all my Facebook folks - I've been changing my profile slightly since I've found that some Yabbo has been sending out porno videos using my name. If anyone has been offended by this drek, I apologise for letting my profile be used like that. AS folks who really know me know this is not my style. In addition, I'm going to be cutting back on this account and if someone sends you something like this in my name again, forward it back to me and I'll take care of it. For the time being - I'll only be checking this account once in a while, but if you need to get in touch immediately - email me through my blog at colecoop.blogspot.com - or through my Plaxo Pulse profile.

Well, for the beginning of 2008, I've shut down my Facebook account. Orginally I got the account to help me manage my personal e-mail contacts, my social network as they say, and I have LinkedIn for my business contacts, hotmail for my instant messaging, and this Blog for posting stuff. Like a lot of folks who are online a lot, I have a couple of e-mail addresses on Gmail and other systems all of which have e-mail adress books and the number of addresses in all the books has reached over 300, so it's becoming unmanageable. So in the beginning of December, I signed up for Plaxo - the Beta of which calls itself "Your address book for Life" which is what I needed to sync all the addresses from all the accounts, clean up the duplicates and update the addresses I have. Heck it even helped me send out Christmas cards this year, and update addresses from folks I talk to regularly. Now if you use Plaxo - you're probably saying "Wait a minute - you can bridge your F...
