Going through the comics stash – found an oldie but goodie cartoon that got me thinking.  Time to go to this years BeerFest. And if you need some more encouragement…. The When… This amazing two day sampling event runs: Friday May 29th (4-10pm) & Saturday May 30th (3-10pm), Big Four Building ~ Stampede Park The Where… This year’s event is being held at the Big 4 Building on Stampede Park. The Big 4 Building has ample parking, is close to the C-Train, and is a short walk to exciting downtown Calgary & 17th Ave. Enjoy…And there is so much to enjoy! Arrive early because the first 4000 attendees through the doors each day receive an official BeerFest ‘09 sample mug!!! It's an old picture from last year, but it's worth re-printing. Beerfest is back in town and I'll be working the door this afternoon from 4 PM on. Alas, I don't know if Miss Faith Lee will be there this year. She's honeymooning with her new hubby, but I'm sure the Vex folks will have a new babe for their booth.

A tribute to a great drink.  Just in time for the long weekend.    Ask for a Caesar outside of Canada and the bartender might look at you like you're from another planet…. The uniquely Canadian concoction, invented 40 years ago in Calgary, may not be the most popular drink in the rest of the world, but every Canadian bartender worth his celery salt knows how to make one.   Today, Calgary's Westin Hotel will mark the 40th anniversary of the spicy beverage by unveiling a plaque touting it as the birthplace of the Caesar. The drink was invented by the late Walter Chell, a bartender at the Owl's Nest Bar in the Calgary Inn, now the Westin H/T to The Calgary Herald All hail Caesar!
