Story of cutting the cable Well, I forgot to post this back in October - when I started cutting the cable.  Here it is November, and It's still sitting in the draft folder - so here it is. I've been doing a lot more reading, and forgot to post on the blog - but I've also been working on getting the PC's up on Windows 10 latest edition. (October)  About two weeks back, I had a look at my bills and realized I was spending a butt-ton of money on cable TV, internet and landline phone services.  My contract was up and I’m not needing the business class of service - so I had a nice chat with a rep on cutting down to the basics. This was only after logging into the MYshaw account website and resetting a password, and setting up a two-factor Authenticator and placing an order to return the old Shaw gateway and just cut back to the Internet 300 and my landline.  Joyous!  My bill went from $395 a month to around a promised $89 for the phone service and internet. ...

Cooper's Place is down Originally, I had changed the name of my blog because of the issues I was having with my email addresses. So Folks - be careful out there - make sure that your addresses are accurate - and to the one Cole Cooper out there who insists on signing up for School using the cole.cooper@gmail.com address - tell your school your  correct  gmail address.  I'm not going to do your homework for you. But that didn't work - so now I'm keeping the Gmail account and will use it as a junk mail account.  My other emails are now updated to my full name - including my Linkedin account to keep my profile up to date - so I decided to turn the blog back to my original Cole's Notes.

Email cleanup So here I am - cleaning up my email boxes.  Around 700 emails in four accounts.  Now I'm keeping my gmail.com account for blogging and writing. coleman.cooper@outlook.com for business, and coleman.cooper@icloud.com for personal stuff on iPhone and iPad.   Outlook inbox - with the main email coleman.cooper@outlook.com. Why? It's mainly spam and junk mail thing. Plus the problem with Gmail sending other folks email to my inbox plugging it up.  See Will the Real Cole Cooper please stand up? One of the things I’ve been spending too much time on is email.  I’m going to be cutting back on it and Social media in general.  Being a bit of a night owl - I’m limiting my time to 2 hours a night, and not checking email during the day. I’m only checking email after 10 PM MDT during the week and rarely on the weekend.  If your matter is urgent - please text me or call and message on my cellphone - or message through Facebook. Don’t be surprised if I don’t get back to you right away, as I generally don’t like to type long messages on my iPhone.  

I've been a little to busy to look after things.  Now they've gone to seed. Getting a Friday done I've always worked by using the GTD Processes -  (Getting Things Done)   It's been good for me to get organized, but it is like LinkedIn , in that it is like a garden.  If you don't use it regularly, it becomes overgrown.  When I was working in a regular 9 to 5 job, I'd always schedule a time to keep my Linkedin Contacts and update my lists on GTD. Also, it was also the time to do backups and write articles for Cole's Notes (My old Blog - now called Cooper's Place), run backups, and update my technologies (cellphone, iPad, et al.).  What I've noticed since I moved away from working in an office - I've let my GTD discipline lax and the Linkedin - although still useful is still in free mode. It's not an excuse - but driving for Discount means that I don't spend any time on a computer these days.  Rather, I'm just using messen...

Working on the Library Not At the Library So this family Day - since it was really quiet - I started working on my personal library of books, the 25 boxes of photo books, reference, and stuff that I had in my home back when I was in the house.  The boxes are over in storage, since this one bedroom apartment I'm renting doesn't have enough space to unpack them all. So I'm selling them off - through Alibris.  It's going to take a while to go through the books, but there are about a hundred listed on Alibris under my iStudio101 bookstore name.  Right now there's no URL assigned to the store until I get my inventory uploaded and the webpage built.  So that's to come soon.

The old G+ Page With the new year, there I have been contemplating changes I want to make.  Technology is always changing and so are my social media responsibilities.  As well, I've been neglecting my multiple blogs and social media (Facebook Twitter, Instagram, Pinterest, et al).  With G+ closing down and Facebook being a major PITA these days - I decided to update my long-neglected Blog of Cole's Notes and decided to roll all my writing to this one location temporarily. The original So for the next little while - I'll be turning up links and stuff and adding content to this location to keep the colecoop.blogspot.com URL active - and keep all the old postings in an archive.  so if you're following and subscribing - keep using this URL for the time being.
